Stomach (Gastric) Botox in Türkiye
A non-surgical endoscopic option that may help you feel full for longer while you build lasting habits.
What is stomach botox?
Stomach botox, also called gastric botox, is a non-surgical weight management procedure in which botulinum toxin is injected into selected areas of the stomach wall through an endoscope. It does not cut, staple or remove any part of the stomach, and it does not change your anatomy permanently.
The aim is to support appetite control for a limited period so that you can establish healthier eating patterns, portion awareness and an active routine.

How the technique works
Botulinum toxin temporarily relaxes muscle activity. When it is placed in the stomach muscle, the stomach may empty more slowly after meals, which typically prolongs the feeling of fullness and can reduce how much a person wants to eat.
The procedure is performed by a specialist using a thin, flexible endoscope passed through the mouth. Under direct vision, the doctor places a number of small injections in the targeted regions of the stomach.
- Performed endoscopically, with no external incisions
- Usually takes about 30 minutes
- Generally carried out with local anaesthesia of the throat, sometimes with light sedation
- No hospital stay is typically required
Who may be a suitable candidate
Gastric botox is usually considered for people who want help with weight management but are not candidates for, or do not wish to undergo, surgery. Suitability always requires an individual evaluation by a specialist, including a review of your medical history, current medication and previous stomach conditions.
- Adults with a moderate amount of weight to lose
- People who have struggled with portion control despite diet and exercise efforts
- Patients who prefer a non-surgical approach
- Not usually appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain stomach disorders or toxin allergies
Procedure day, recovery and results timeline
You will normally be asked to fast for several hours beforehand. After a short consultation and the endoscopic injection, you rest briefly and can generally go home the same day. Many people return to light daily activities within a day or two, although individual experiences vary.
Effects are usually noticed over the first days to weeks, and the effect typically lasts about four to six months as the toxin gradually wears off. Results depend heavily on diet, activity and follow-up support, which is why nutrition guidance is commonly part of the plan. Weight changes differ from person to person and cannot be guaranteed.
Risks and important considerations
As with any medical procedure, there are risks. Mild and temporary effects such as a sore throat, nausea, bloating, stomach discomfort or heartburn may occur. Less commonly, complications related to endoscopy or sedation can happen, and an allergic reaction is possible.
Because the effect is temporary, the procedure may be repeated only after specialist assessment. It does not replace a balanced diet or lifestyle change. Please share your full medical history and discuss expectations openly with your doctor before deciding.
