Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in Türkiye

Using your own tissue to shape a fuller, more balanced silhouette with careful safety planning.

What is a Brazilian butt lift?

A Brazilian butt lift, commonly known as BBL, is a body contouring procedure that uses your own fat to enhance the shape and volume of the buttocks. It combines liposuction of other areas with fat transfer, so it can refine the waist, abdomen or flanks while improving buttock proportions.

Because it uses your own tissue, no implant is involved, though the amount of fat that is available and survives varies between individuals.

How the technique works

Fat is gently harvested by liposuction from areas such as the abdomen, flanks or thighs. It is then processed and carefully injected into the buttock region in several planes by the surgeon. Placement technique and depth are critical for safety, and surgeons generally aim to avoid deep muscle injection.

Not all transferred fat survives; part of it is naturally absorbed in the following months, which is why the final volume is judged only after healing.

  • Liposuction to collect fat from donor areas
  • Purification of fat before injection
  • Careful, controlled injection to shape the buttocks
  • Usually takes about two to three hours

Who may be a suitable candidate

Candidates are generally adults in good general health who have enough donor fat and realistic expectations. An in-person or remote medical review is essential, as suitability depends on body type, medical history and goals.

  • People with sufficient fat in donor areas
  • Patients with stable weight and good skin quality
  • Non-smokers, or those who will stop before and after surgery
  • Those able to follow sitting and positioning restrictions during recovery

Procedure day, recovery and results timeline

BBL is performed under general anaesthesia and typically takes about two to three hours, followed by a hospital stay of around one day. Compression garments are usually worn after surgery.

During recovery you will be asked to avoid sitting or lying directly on the buttocks for a period defined by your surgeon, often using special cushions or sleeping on your front or sides. Swelling and bruising settle gradually over weeks, and many people return to desk-based work after a short period while taking care with positioning. The final shape is usually assessed after several months.

Risks and important considerations

Risks include bleeding, infection, contour irregularities, asymmetry, fluid collection, loss of some of the transferred fat and changes in skin sensation. The most serious risk specific to this procedure is fat entering the blood vessels, which is why technique and an experienced, accredited surgical team are so important.

Please choose a team that explains these risks openly, follow all restrictions carefully and attend your follow-up reviews. Results cannot be guaranteed, and a second session is occasionally discussed.

Frequently asked questions

Will all the transferred fat remain?
No. Some of the fat is typically absorbed during healing, so the final volume is evaluated after several months.
Why can't I sit normally after BBL?
Pressure on the buttocks may reduce the survival of transferred fat, so your surgeon will give you specific sitting and sleeping instructions.
How long should I stay in Türkiye?
Your surgeon will advise this individually, but patients typically plan a stay of several days to allow for early check-ups before travelling.

Results and recovery times vary from person to person. Every treatment starts with a medical evaluation by a licensed specialist.
