Thigh Lift Surgery in Türkiye
Refined contours for the thighs, with a carefully placed scar and a natural, balanced result.
What is a thigh lift?
A thigh lift, or thighplasty, is a body contouring operation that removes loose skin and, where needed, excess fat from the inner or upper thighs. It is most often considered after significant weight loss, pregnancy or natural ageing, when skin has lost its elasticity and no longer retracts.
The goal is a smoother, firmer and more proportionate thigh contour, which can also reduce skin rubbing and irritation in some people.

How the technique works
The surgeon plans the incision according to how much tissue needs to be removed and where it is located. In an inner thigh lift, the incision is typically placed in the groin crease and may extend down the inner thigh so that the scar sits in a less visible area. Excess skin and fat are removed, the remaining tissue is lifted and the wound is closed in layers.
Liposuction can be combined with the lift to refine the shape when there is a significant fatty component.
- Inner thigh, outer thigh or extended techniques depending on your needs
- Scar hidden along the groin crease or inner thigh
- Optional combination with liposuction
- Usually takes about two to three hours
Who may be a suitable candidate
Good candidates are generally adults in stable health with a stable weight who have loose or sagging thigh skin. Whether surgery is appropriate, and which technique suits you, can only be decided after an individual evaluation by a plastic surgeon.
- People with excess thigh skin after major weight loss
- Non-smokers or those willing to stop before and after surgery
- Patients with realistic expectations about scarring
- Not usually advised if planning significant further weight loss or pregnancy soon
Procedure day, recovery and results timeline
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and typically lasts about two to three hours. Most patients stay in hospital for one night. Compression garments and drains may be used, and you will be given instructions on mobility and wound care.
Swelling and bruising are expected and gradually settle over several weeks. Many people resume light activity within a couple of weeks, while strenuous exercise is usually delayed for longer, as advised by your surgeon. The final contour and the maturation of the scar may take several months to a year.
Risks and important considerations
Thigh lift is a major procedure with risks that include bleeding, infection, fluid collection, delayed wound healing, wound separation, asymmetry, changes in sensation and visible or widened scars. Rarely, blood clots or anaesthetic complications can occur.
Scars are permanent, although they typically fade with time. Following the aftercare plan, wearing compression as directed and attending follow-up checks are important for safe healing. Please discuss your health history and expectations in detail with your surgeon.
